Die Blanking | Steel Rule Die Blanking (SRDB)

Custom Parts Online offers you custom parts made of Steel Rule Die Blanking process. Steel rule die blanking is a process where parts can be punched out from soft materials like plastics, leather, aluminum foils, paper, card board, felt, etc. The cutting design is first laser cut on a wooden base. Then flexible steel blades are fixed in the (laser cut) wooden contours using hidden nails. These steel blades project out of the wooden base to form a sharp edged cutting tool. When this tool is forced against the soft material, neatly punched parts are produced.

Features: Needs tooling, no burrs in cutting, easy repeatability of cutting designs, can cut metal and plastic sheets, suitable for short runs.

Typical parts: Any flat part upto 1.0 mm thickness in aluminium soft foil, plastics films, foam sheets and rubber sheet upto 5 mm and with 0.1 to 0.3 mm tolerance.

Max. part size: 1000 mm length x 1000 mm width x 1 mm thickness
(Note: For parts outside this size range, we will send offers within 5 working days.)
