Photo Chemical Milling | PCM Machines | Photochemical Milling | Photochemical Machining
In Photo Chemical Milling (PCM), the image of the part to be manufactured is photographically transferred on to a metal plate first. Then the unwanted portions of the metal are removed by chemical etching. As the finished product is thus produced chemically, its mechanical characteristics remain unchanged and the part is ready for use without any additional treatment.
Features: Low cost tooling, quick delivery, design flexibility, retention of material properties, easy tool modification, no burrs, highly suitable for prototype production and short runs.
Typical parts: Thin parts with complex shapes, such as stampings, from sheet/ strip of almost any metal/metallic alloy, thickness range of 0.05 mm to 0.50 mm, with 0.01 to 0.08 mm tolerance (depending on thickness).
Max. part size: 250 mm length x 250 mm width x 0.50 mm thickness
(Note: For parts outside this size range, we will send offers within 5 working days.)
